Missed

I love you and I know you loved me
That is why this is so hard, as it is you who I see

You are now sitting here in an endless night.
What is it that you feel? Is it happiness or fright?

Every time I think about it, I think why? Why? WHY?
But you don’t answer, even though they make you try.

No one can take your place and I didn’t want us to part.
I can tell you now, you will always hold a dear place in my heart.

I never wanted us to part in such a way, without saying farewell.
But you will always be remembered in the stories I will tell.

When I see you, I know there is something wrong.
The real you is gone, even though your body is strong.

It has been too long, it is you who I miss
You are my best friend and I still consider that a bliss

You turned yourself inside out.
You do not scream, talk, kick or shout.

You do not laugh, do not joke and do not live
You do not wake up, not even with all the love we give.

You look, but you do not see
Your mind is not where it ought to be.

I miss you so much, and it hurts me to see you in this state
You are still my best friend, my confidant and my mate.

Seeing you like this, it is tearing me apart.
This is for a fact, the mourning process will start.

But I am certain that we will meet each other again.
I just can’t see the future, so I do not know when.
