Alone

Afdrukken

A wise man once said ‘One does not do well to dwell on dreams, and forget to live.’
Pouring out my heart, these are my dreams I hereby give.

I dreamt of a world, filled with friends, family and good health.
But fate didn’t agree and flew into my dreams, very stealth.

First it came to family, it’s now a bit torn, but still alright.
After that he turned on you, and that gave me fright.

You were so young, filled with hopes and dreams.
It’s not fair. You now do not think of life, so is seems.

Another wise man once said life itself is not fair.
This reality I do not like and I do not wish to bare.

I feel alone and cold without you by my side.
If I could’ve helped you, you know I would have tried.

Away my good thoughts and lively hopes of things to come.
God I miss you so much, after all this time, I’m still numb.

You would think the pain would grow less in time.
If that would be the case, I wouldn’t be writing this rhyme.

The you I miss, I will still miss in my future life.
To have joy and love for the both of us, that is my strife.

I have to move on, I have to live my life as only I can.
Never will I forget you, it is you I will never ban.

With this poem I bid you farewell and say goodbye with a heart of lead.
I will not dwell on dreams, I will remember what a wise man once said.
